Caramelized Bananas & Oatmeal

Easy recipe to upgrade your morning oats. Bananas are sautéed in maple syrup & coconut oil and are a delicious compliment to oats topped with lots of goodies.

Ingredients:

2 bananas, sliced

2 tablespoons coconut oil

2 tablespoons maple syrup

1 cup oats

Kosher salt

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon*

2 tablespoons almond butter*

1 tablespoon sliced almonds*

1 tablespoon hemp seed hearts*

Splash of maple syrup

Splash of milk of your choice, optional

Steps:

Heat 2 cups of water with a pinch of kosher salt over high heat. When it boils, add your cup of oats and reduce to a simmer. Stir occasionally.

Once oats are cooking, heat coconut oil over medium-high. Add maple syrup once the oil starts to shimmer. The maple syrup will heat quickly and start to boil. Add the sliced bananas and stir around. Stir to coat the all bananas in oil/syrup mixture. Let the bananas stay cooking until they are golden brown and sticky on each side. 

Once oats are done, add to your favorite breakfast bowl. Add the almond butter, almonds, hemp seed hearts, cinnamon, top with the bananas. Drizzle with maple syrup and milk. 

*per 1 bowl of oatmeal
